These integrated IV catheters combine advanced needle stick safety with an innovative closed catheter system design. The patented shielding technology incorporates a telescoping needle shield that passively covers the stylet as it is withdrawn from the catheter. The preattached extension tubing offers a closed system, helping ensure a virtually bloodless venipuncture. The removable PRN adapter allows for use with any needleless IV access device. The "Y" adapter allows for prepriming and flushing during venipuncture. The flexible winged design offers maneuverability and control during insertion and a broad, flexible tapedown platform for increased stability. The sharp needle and patented tip taper helps to ensure ease of insertion.
